Millstone Creek Park Improvements

Westerville, Ohio

The existing Millstone Creek Park play areas have delighted Westerville residents for over 15 years. Yet, with aging equipment and new research in play behavioral studies, the city decided to revamp one of their most popular parks with a more open, groundlevel layout that encourages interactive, shared play among children and adults of all abilities and ages. The redesigned space distributes play elements across the site, improving visibility for caregivers and creating a more intuitive, engaging playtime experience. The renewed park was complete in summer 2026 and offers a modernized recreational experience while preserving the natural character that has made it a valued destination for Westerville residents. The design includes new and refurbished play equipment, a variety of sensory experiences, climbing logs and mounds, robust seating, and large native plant beds. SITE FIVESIXTY led the project and landscape architecture design with Karla Salmans as the Principal-in-Charge.
