Karla believes successful landscape architecture is only achievable through a critical understanding of each site, from its interior details to its external influences. This detailed site analysis creates a strong foundation for her designs and ensures each solution is rooted in cultural, social, and ecological elements authentic to each project.
Practicing for 15 years, Karla is a licensed landscape architect in the state of Ohio. She founded SITE FIVESIXTY in April 2025 after amassing a portfolio spanning across a wide range of clients, scopes, and scales. She has a deep understanding of all project phases because her practice began in the trenches, doing the work and learning from her peers, colleagues, and mentors. Now a leader herself, Karla encourages younger generations of landscape architects to be bold, curious, and humble. Designing the space between the built environment, natural systems, and the human condition requires a passion for lifelong learning and a healthy sense of humility to ensure the best minds are sitting at the table to create an impactful, coherent project.
Karla lives in Powell, Ohio with her husband, two kids, and their dog, Josie — proof she can handle chaos and anarchy, or any other obstacle thrown her way.
