The recipient of the 2022 Ohio Chapter ASLA Award of Excellence, Rose Run Park is a thoughtfully designed 13-acre greenway that serves as both a scenic retreat and a central community hub. Completed in 2019, the park seamlessly connects Market Square, the school learning campus, and surrounding civic destinations, making it a vital link between nature, culture, and everyday life. Family-friendly amenities include a nature play area, open lawns, and creek entry points that invite hands-on exploration of the natural environment. The park also incorporates features like the 30’ wide pedestrian bridge, the whimsical birch walk, a handy bike repair station, and the formal Marx Library Garden. While employed with a previous firm, Karla Salmans served as project manager and was responsible for landscape architectural design services from initial planning through construction completion.
